Blog Assignment 1

MY LIFE!
My name is Devon Weaver and I live across Mobile Bay in Loxley with my parents. I have one brother that is married and they are expecting their first baby girl, Ava Rebecca, in October. I am extremely excited about being an aunt. I went to Robertsdale High School and then went to Faulkner State Community College for my first two years of college. I choose USA because it was close to home. I plan to graduate in the spring of 2013 with a bachelor degree in Elementary Education/ Special Education. I loving dealing with children and I consider myself very patient. I chose Elementary Education because it is a rewarding career.  My mom is a director at Loxley First Baptist Childcare and has been for about ten years. This is the same daycare I grew up in and currently work there now. When I have free time I enjoy shopping and watching sports.

TIME MANAGEMENT!
The first thing I learned from Randy Pausch is that Americans are not good with time, but good with money. Another thing I caught from his speech was to do the things that are right instead of doing the wrong things "beautifully". I learned a better way to plan from watching Pausch's video which consists of planning each day, week and semester. The last thing that I learned from the video was a better understanding of how to create and fulfill a to-do list.

  2. Hey Dr. Strange,

I had never heard of Randy Pausch before I watched this video so I decided to do some research about him. I found out that he died in July 2008 of pancreatic cancer. Before he passed away, he did his last lecture called "The Last Lecture: Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams" at Carnegie Mellon in September 2007.
